Origin: United States

Elgin Baylor Lumpkin (Washington D.C., October 15, 1970), better known as Ginuwine, is an American R&B singer. His love for music began with songs of Prince and Micheal Jackson. At the age of twelve, Elgin began to perform at parties with the local hip-hop group the Finesse Five. He later worked as a Michael Jackson impressionist. In 1996 he debuted with the album ‘Ginuwine The Bachelor’ with producer Timbaland. The song ‘Pony’ became a number one R&B smash and Ginuwine broke through. Later in his career, Elgin had big hits with the songs Tell Me Do U Wanna,” “I’ll Do Anything/I’m Sorry,” “Holler,” and “Only When Ur Lonely” and his second album 100% Ginuwine in early 1999.
