Gente De Zona
Origin: Cuba
Gente de Zona (Spanish for: People from the Neighborhood) is a Cuban reggaeton group founded by Alexander Delgado in the year 2000. The group has had several members, but eventually Randy Malcom remained the only other member (singer) as of 2012. The group is known for combining reggaeton rhythms with other traditional forms of Cuban music. Their international breakthrough came in 2014 with a remake of their single ‘Bailando’, which was covered by Enrique Iglesias and subsequently also made into an English version. This hit earned the duo numerous prestigious awards, including the Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard Awards. In April 2015, they released another successful song called ‘La Gozadera’, this time in collaboration with Marc Anthony.
